Funny and original and quick to admit to not being a walking musical encyclopedia (that's what his sidekick Marc Hughes is there for, a bloke with a genuine and deep musical knowledge). Alas, the anoraks and trainspotters are only happy with po-faced Lamaq types capable of naming the catalogue number of deleted Bogshed Flexi Singles and the name of the drummer from Crispy Ambulance's dog. Shabba to the lot of ya!

I can completely see why people could dislike him, but I think he's great (although I on't like the singing over the back of tracks). I've not been into a radio show like this since Marc & Lard, absolute genius. Something fresh and different on 6 music. He keeps the station well balanced, and without Adam & Joe and George Lamb the station would become decidedly flat during the day.

Of all the weekday shows, including the drive-time slot, George's is the most listened to, with 40,000 listeners. I believe this is down to how enjoyable his shows are, what with the light-hearted banter and daft questions. This kind of show does not belong on Radio 1; not with their awful playlist and school-age audience. George's programme appeals to the generation that grew up in the 80s and 90s. I used to listen to other day time 6 music presenters, but they just dont measure up to the sheer enjoyment I can look forward to each day, 10 till 1 - 6 music. LIFE IS LIFE!!1

I think he's imaginative and good at the job. We have 6music on all day in the office and of all the djs, he is the most entertaining. If you only listen in occasionally, the sound effects and banter may not make any sense, but after a few listens you get the themes and style, and it gets much funnier. Exactly the sort of thing needed to break up the day and the antidote to the boring Namone et all afterwards...

He's a great bit of light relief in the mornings... So much better than boring farts like Namone and Lamacq. Anyone who says otherwise is generally a boring old tosser who's afraid to make eye contact with the person they speak to.

George lamb is a top guy, great banter, they all have an infectious laugh that you can help laughing with them, and you get the feeling they dont care, which is great, not too earnest, completely inane, not rude to phone in listeners just general mickey taking and good times. What the hell more do you want! The people that are getting completely wound up, need to get on with some graft and quit paying so much attention to the radio waves. Perfect morning radio. On this one, mickey is sure.

they have got some useless dj's on there (only a couple mind) like Nemone for instance who just bores the hell out of me. She has nothing good going for her. George lambe is something i look forward to every day. During the day listeneing to his show is like watching a comedy show. whilst at work. what more do i need? I'll listen to music at home. Radio 6 is great for music the rest of the time..

"I've listened to 6Music since the day it started and have noted with sadness the gradual decline but it still stood head-and-shoulders above the competion until the arrival of Lamb. I would ask Lesley Duncan to put the show on in her office and listen to it in the company of some of her peers. How embarrassing would that be?" mate, put one of Chris Hawkins' on. it's a shame people like him are actually allowed to transmit their base views. You might find George Lamb doesn't particularly suit your sense of humour, but i'm sure you can see what some people might find appealing in him (regardless of what you think of those sorts of people), but if you listen to this dirty sexist drool over that weather girl he gets in from five live, it's actually sickening. That john holmes is an idiot n all. I'm at work for george lamb and can't listen generally, but the quality of the few shows ive listened to in recent weeks (i dunno, maybe the quality's upped a bit of late) has absolutely eclipsed that of those two broadcasters. As someone else said, there seemed to be a decent selection of live tunes as well as some proper 80s hip hop. Lay off him.

i utterly abhor the people who've jumped on this bandwagon. problems with 6 music run far deeper than george lamb (who, by the by, is one of the few actual bearable personalities left, not some squealing idiot like nemone). getting adam and joe on was a masterstroke, so was george lamb. Shaun keaveny was alright on dream ticket, as was nemone, but i don't think either should've been given a day time slot. Gideon suits the nighttime much better. As for that tosser Chris Hawkins however...

Infinitely more listenable than both Keaveny and Nemone either side. The station started going downhill circa the departure of Vic McGlynn, however, I've listened to George Lamb's show since it began, and, whilst it started off a bit shaky, I now quite enjoy it. Get Shaun Keaveny out more like.

Love him. Hate to say it but the haters are just coming across as utter dullards. Yes the music is superior on 6 and we love good music and that is why we listen, and yes the playlist better - yes there is a playlist (although not absolutely), so all George Lamb really does is take you away from the routine of the rotated daytime playlist that you get on Keveney / Nemone / Lammo shows. It ain't gonna kill you, and hey, you can always switch off or over if you don't like it, rather that wind yourself up by listeining in everyday.

George seem to be refuge for all the worst bits of radio that I have ever heard! Humorous sound bites that he uses for 'shout outs'? This type of broadcasting is 2 decades old. BBC 6Music isn't tailoured for people who have never heard that kind of thing before. Those kind of people listen to Chris (another waste of oxygen) Moyles! Please George, make way for someone who understands the reason people choose to listen to 6Music. The clue is in the stations title!

he actually makes me need a poo. My stomach churns at the unbelievable way he talks to people, all covered with thin skin of 'irony'. He seems to think that making all the right noises and 'appearing' to be a bit 'crazy', singing all over perfectly good songs makes him appear to be something approaching witty?
Has he ever listened to Adam and Joe? ever? just once?
Sadly I fear that he has listened, and he is now doing exactly what he did all the way through Public School - crap imitations of genuinely talented people around him - desperately hanging out with the right people - thought always shouting slightly louder than them.
Is it not bad enough that we have to meet these people in our everyday lives?
Please stop filtering them through our lovely radios and into our otherwise peaceful homes.

The fact is he is completely the wrong type of dj for this station, he is an idiot wheo plays very little interest in playing music. It is also clear that his music interests are dance and dancehall music which is all well and good, but would be a much better fit with BBC1Extra

The fact that people who like and support him are comparing him to Moyles says it all really. I listen to 6music because I hate Radio1 with a passion, especially Moyles. The presenter should be second place to the music and even if the dj does "put you on it", they shouldn't let you know every god damn 5 seconds. He has also attracted some right wankers listening to the station now which means songs I used to like have been hijacked by idiots. Bad move 6music, if the station manager would stop worrying about bloody ratings and listen to the dedicated followers of 6music who like presenters like lammo, nemone, stuart mcconie, gideon, jon holmes, andrew collins etc for their genuine charisma and appeal. Lamb is a fad and hopefully will say his last shabba very soon. . .

The campaign against George Lamb unfortunately doesn't seem to working, despite the deluge of protest from longterm and loyal, discerning 6music listeners. Oh dear me. Suddenly a 6Music producer had the disturbing thought "Hang on, we're only catering for people who like music and DJs with a bit of talent- how can we change it?" Just then George Lamb appeared in the Flotsam and jetsam of "celebreties" and answered her prayers...the checklist played in her mind A radio six version of Chris (check), loud pub banter and pointless prattle (check), loves the sound of his own voice (check)...
I thought initially he might be a good DJ but just a little misplaced on 6Music. Sadly, the fact turned out to be that he's a seriously bad DJ and would be misplaced on any station- I wouldn't even wish him on radio1!

There should be a third option for despise him. he is at best an idiot with no discernable music taste that befits the station's policy and at worst an offensive gimp who mouths off in a horrendous mockney tone.Personally i feel his gaps in knowledge would be defendable if he was prepared to learn but his manner in talking to or about people is deplorable he made a comment about Kirsty MacColl that was disrespectfull to say the least he is approaching Noel Edmonds level of hostility with me and that is the worst thing i csan say about him

He is soooooo embarrassingly toe-curling to listen to :(((( George Lamb has ruined my mornings so I now catch up with the excellent Radio6 DJ's shows I have missed (I suppose some good has come out of it all). I want to listen to music, not waffle and inane noises. George is also making very offensive comments which are being picked up by Ofcom - be warned, it is being taken seriously.
Everyone who is complaining is articulate, intelligent and loves decent music - so why is he still on this station? Someone at the Beeb has seriously underestimated the average Radio 6 listener - in any company KNOW YOUR CUSTOMER!

If I wanted to hear this sort of cheeky chappie mockney crap I'd find some old tapes of Danny Baker and bore myself deaf with those. At least he didn't have the delivery of a fruit seller with that irritating constant laugh that he does after everything he says, just to let us all know just how side splittingly funny he is!
What the hell were 6 Music thinking of putting this guy on a station where they claim the music is the most important thing? All we hear all morning is yak yak yak...oooh here's an email from someone saying 'love the show' yak yak..Shabba! Yak yak, ding ding, cor strike a light guvnor up the apples and pears...yak yak... oh hang on here's some music from some band I've been told to play..stay tuned to hear some more of my yak yak yak about me and how clever and witty all my mockney mates think I am..Shabba!
Radio 6 doesn't need a disposable morning show, this isn't the 70's! This sort of smart ass featurette radio went out with Noel Edmunds and belongs to radio 2 where Steve Wright still does a much better job of it and doesn't feel the need to read out self congratulatory emails every five minutes or make sick comments to try to show just how 'edgy' he is!
Why would the BBC want to turn every station they have into another proto radio 1? If this is their remit we could have 30 of these stations by the time they get all their digital output sorted. Could we please at least have just one station where the listeners are treated like thinking adults and not brought down to the purile humour that Mr Lamb seems to think we all want SOOO much of?
