Could BBC6 Music have gotten it any more wrong than this?
Surrounded by a bunch of sycophantic goons he reminds you of the worst of radio DJ's and relies on them to correct him when wrong, which is often.
I don't think there has ever been a dj that has sparked such debate. It's obvious that he does have an audience, but is it really a 6music audience? It's been said that his placement was to attract 'female listeners', well I think his main success has been to attract morons and imbeciles and as many women as men are offended by his presence on what was the greatest music station.
Don't forget to Join in the Debate below as to whether he's good or not! Most people seem to think he isn't funnily enough!
The Top Nine Reasons George Lamb is the Worst DJ
- he stutters
- he gets things wrong far too often
- he pretends to be clever, but then comes a cropper
- he's annoying
- he's absolutely useless!
- He knows nothing about music
- His fake cockney or 'mockney' accent is makes him sound a complete tool for one educated in such a posh school as St. Christopher's
- He's a useless interviewer
- He doesn't play enough music, when he does play some he ruins it by either talking over it or using some stupid sound effect.

Charlie Murphy? Is this really a drug reference to the fact the whole studio is snorting coke? Or is that just how my mind works?

I love this radio for many reasons. The rechargable battery giving you a huge amount of portability, the splash proof design so you can take it in the bathroom, the amazing sound quality, the ability to plug it into my sound system, the ipod mport facility, the rather cool design. But mostly what I love about this is the ability to stream audio from your pc anywhere in the house! This means I can comfortably walk away from the pc knowing I can listen to some quality 6music broadcasts via the listen again feature anywhere in the house or garden! It Rocks!

Of all the weekday shows, including the drive-time slot, George's is the most listened to, with 40,000 listeners. I believe this is down to how enjoyable his shows are, what with the light-hearted banter and daft questions. This kind of show does not belong on Radio 1; not with their awful playlist and school-age audience. George's programme appeals to the generation that grew up in the 80s and 90s. I used to listen to other day time 6 music presenters, but they just dont measure up to the sheer enjoyment I can look forward to each day, 10 till 1 - 6 music. LIFE IS LIFE!!1

I think he's imaginative and good at the job. We have 6music on all day in the office and of all the djs, he is the most entertaining. If you only listen in occasionally, the sound effects and banter may not make any sense, but after a few listens you get the themes and style, and it gets much funnier. Exactly the sort of thing needed to break up the day and the antidote to the boring Namone et all afterwards...

He's a great bit of light relief in the mornings... So much better than boring farts like Namone and Lamacq. Anyone who says otherwise is generally a boring old tosser who's afraid to make eye contact with the person they speak to.

I love Lamb. He is an absolute genius. If you are so obsessed with hearing music, put on a smegging CD and stop moaning.

George lamb is a top guy, great banter, they all have an infectious laugh that you can help laughing with them, and you get the feeling they dont care, which is great, not too earnest, completely inane, not rude to phone in listeners just general mickey taking and good times. What the hell more do you want! The people that are getting completely wound up, need to get on with some graft and quit paying so much attention to the radio waves. Perfect morning radio. On this one, mickey is sure.

they have got some useless dj's on there (only a couple mind) like Nemone for instance who just bores the hell out of me. She has nothing good going for her. George lambe is something i look forward to every day. During the day listeneing to his show is like watching a comedy show. whilst at work. what more do i need? I'll listen to music at home. Radio 6 is great for music the rest of the time..

matt edmunds says:
"I've listened to 6Music since the day it started and have noted with sadness the gradual decline but it still stood head-and-shoulders above the competion until the arrival of Lamb. I would ask Lesley Duncan to put the show on in her office and listen to it in the company of some of her peers. How embarrassing would that be?" mate, put one of Chris Hawkins' on. it's a shame people like him are actually allowed to transmit their base views. You might find George Lamb doesn't particularly suit your sense of humour, but i'm sure you can see what some people might find appealing in him (regardless of what you think of those sorts of people), but if you listen to this dirty sexist drool over that weather girl he gets in from five live, it's actually sickening. That john holmes is an idiot n all. I'm at work for george lamb and can't listen generally, but the quality of the few shows ive listened to in recent weeks (i dunno, maybe the quality's upped a bit of late) has absolutely eclipsed that of those two broadcasters. As someone else said, there seemed to be a decent selection of live tunes as well as some proper 80s hip hop. Lay off him.

GMan says:
George seem to be refuge for all the worst bits of radio that I have ever heard! Humorous sound bites that he uses for 'shout outs'? This type of broadcasting is 2 decades old. BBC 6Music isn't tailoured for people who have never heard that kind of thing before. Those kind of people listen to Chris (another waste of oxygen) Moyles! Please George, make way for someone who understands the reason people choose to listen to 6Music. The clue is in the stations title!

he actually makes me need a poo. My stomach churns at the unbelievable way he talks to people, all covered with thin skin of 'irony'. He seems to think that making all the right noises and 'appearing' to be a bit 'crazy', singing all over perfectly good songs makes him appear to be something approaching witty?
Has he ever listened to Adam and Joe? ever? just once?
Sadly I fear that he has listened, and he is now doing exactly what he did all the way through Public School - crap imitations of genuinely talented people around him - desperately hanging out with the right people - thought always shouting slightly louder than them.
Is it not bad enough that we have to meet these people in our everyday lives?
Please stop filtering them through our lovely radios and into our otherwise peaceful homes.

The first time I had the misfortune to hear him the sycophantic posse and especially the 'Shabba' nonsense drove me over to Radio 2. I'm nothing if not fair so some time later, when I'd recovered, I listened in again and he was just as shite as the first time!
